The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award (AmSIA) is an annual award for the most innovative research-based idea with a social and/or commercial application.
Participating in this contest will give you an excellent opportunity to develop your idea further, explore its potential and share it with a broad audience. We are looking for entries with a social and/or commercial value arising from innovative research.
For whom
This contest is open to all researchers, staff and students in all disciplines from all Amsterdam universities, universities of applied sciences, academic hospitals and public research centers.
Criteria in short
Each entry will be assessed by a highly qualified jury chaired by Prof. Alexander Rinnooy Kan. Entries will be judged on their innovativeness, feasibility and fulfilment of a market need. See also Jury, Criteria & Regulations.

About the Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award and the organisation
The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award is an annual award for the most innovative research-based idea with a social and/or commercial application. Last year, nearly 70 idea’s from UvA-HvA, AMC, VU-VUmc and Sanquin competed for the award.
The competition is organised by Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA): the valorisation centre of UvA-HvA, AMC and VU-VUmc.
The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award is supported by Amsterdam Science Park, Rabobank Amsterdam, NLO and Fundwijzer.
