Summer School ‘New Venture Creation and Entrepreneurship’

This year, for the fourth time in a row, the VU Summer School ‘New Venture Creation and Entrepreneurship’ will be organized. This course follows a sustainable entrepreneurship approach, dealing with all the economic, social and ecological aspects of new ventures. Much of the precise content is determined by the students themselves, who are expected to come up with their own business ideas and contributions, guided by the course lecturers. After morning lectures on such topics as the start-up process, Business Model Canvas 2017, entrepreneurial competencies and enterprising behaviour, in the afternoons the students work on practical assignments, with additional support from outside experts. The course ends with the presentation of the team assignments, in a Dragon’s Den/Shark Tank setting.

This year, the Summer School ‘New Venture Creation and Entrepreneurship’ will be organized even two times: from 24 July until 4 August and from 7 until 18 August.  The coordinator of this Summer School is Professor Enno Masurel. He says: ‘This is unique event, very interactive, with lots of guest speakers, and students who literally come from all over the world’.  About 50 students will participate, divided over the two blocks.
