Workshop: From research-based idea into an impact strategy

20 April - 2023
08:55 - 10:30

Would you like to know more about how to create societal or economic impact with your (preliminary) research results, translate it into practical applications or share it with external parties?

In this workshop you will learn in a nutshell what is involved in valorisation of research. You will learn about the steps to take to further develop your idea into a concrete product or service. Our experts share different models on how to transform your idea into a more concrete concept that can be turned into a solid business case. The individual cases will be discussed on basis of these various business models and there is room for questions and reflection. We also discuss how IXA can support you during this process.

What can you expect?
Concrete explanation on what valorisation means, the significance of it for both the research institute and yourself, steps toward transforming research into applications and what is needed to enable valorisation of research. You will work on your idea and learn which steps you need to take.

We will address the following questions:

  • What problem or need does your idea solve?
  • What are the benefits of your idea and for whom?
  • Which parties and stakeholders do you need to collaborate with to develop your idea into a concrete concept?

Who benefits from this workshop?
Researchers and PhD’s who want to learn more about valorisation and how to transform an idea into a concept.
