A huge range of people need to be able to speak English in today’s globalised world. VU researcher Laura Rupp developed a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), followed by more than 100,000 learners worldwide, teaching people how to understand the wide variety of accents in English and to speak more understandably themselves. She has also established the Center for Global English to increase positive impact on global English worldwide and to have more inclusive English education.
