To stimulate innovation, economic activity and entrepreneurship in both education and research, IXA has, in collaboration with the City of Amsterdam, developed the valorisation programme IXAnext: Talent for Innovation.
The IXAnext valorisation programme is an alliance between the Amsterdam universities and knowledge institutes: HvA, UvA, VU, AHK, Amsterdam UMC-VUmc and Amsterdam UMC-AMC and the NWO institutes AMOLF and NIKHEF. Over a five-year period, 2017-2021, they collaborate in utilising and disseminating knowledge. The programme offers facilities and funding, infrastructure, a network, educational measures and much more. All these can be found in the Programmes & Affiliates section, top right.
Facilities, funding and infrastructure
Researchers, teachers and students can join the incubators Amsterdam Venture Studios (AVS) and Demonstrator Lab to develop and test their business ideas or accommodate their start-up activities. For researchers seeking to collaborate with industrial partners, the IXAnext program provides the Physics2Market Grant. Students and researchers who want to learn more about entrepreneurship can follow the programmes of ACE (Amsterdam Centre of Entrepreneurship). The Explore programme is a two-day programme to learn the basics of venture creation and in the Incubation programme ACE helps early-stage startups build their start-up with 12 weeks of training and support by leading mentors and business coaches. HvA Bachelor students have access to the 10k Pre incubator program which offers coaching and guidance in developing innovative and/ or sustainable ideas into a start-up during a 20 week program. After that they can join for instance Demonstrator Lab or AVS.
Students with plans for a start-up can profit from the knowledge of mentors through the platform Startup and Running.
Companies and non-profits
Companies and non-profits can benefit from the latest scientific expertise and research facilities with the Physics on Demand service. The Research Facilities database helps R&D departments to find specialised, high-end equipment and instruments.
Teachers in Entrepreneurship can find inspiration for their education program and lessons with the Entrepreneurship cases and the BlendedLearning pilot.
To keep HvA-alumni with their own business up to speed with the latest insights and knowledge the Post-Experience Program, with masterclasses and courses, was developed. For more information and upcoming masterclasses in the Post-Experience Program please send an email to email@example.com.
The IXAnext valorisation programme is made possible with a contribution of the City of Amsterdam.
