Award Categories

Both the Innovation Awards and Impact Awards are awarded in the categories Society, Health, and Environment & Climate – which are based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Only the Innovation Award is an open competition of ideas from all research domains and disciplines, from researchers of the participating Amsterdam knowledge institutes.

You can register for the Innovation Award ‘Society’ 2025 if your idea makes a difference in addressing poverty, quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities and/ or peace, justice and strong institutions. Does your idea contribute to improving health or address health issues? Does it take action to bring humanitarian relief to people in need of food and clean water? You can register for the Innovation Award ‘Health’ 2025 if your idea addresses zero hunger, good health and wellbeing and/ or clean water and sanitation.

Does your idea contribute to sustainably managing our resources? Does it take action to combat climate change? You can register for the Innovation Award ‘Environment & Climate’ 20253if your idea addresses affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water and/ or life on land.
