Collaboration with external partners
Transforming a scientific result into a practical application is never an effort of one person or even one group. IXA can support you from the start in finding the right partners, negotiating agreements and taking care of the formalities.

Work together
Those who want to transform a scientific result into an application never work alone. Valorisation almost always means entering into a collaboration. With another university, with civil society organisations, with companies or industry. For all forms of science, there is at least one party interested in your specific knowledge. Think of health insurance companies, financial institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). But also, professionals such as psychologists, lawyers and doctors. Non-profit organisations, such as in education, development cooperation, care institutions and governments, also like to make use of scientific knowledge.
Whatever your research direction, once you want to apply your research to society, you always need good collaboration partners. IXA is happy to help you find a great match.
We were able to conclude an agreement with Hooggreve Amsterdam to bring SIVT to the market. IXA's lawyers helped me draft the contract.

Closing the deal
The dialogue with a third party has been conducted together with IXA, a collaboration agreement is approaching. In this final stage, our team of business developers and lawyers helps you complete the formalities. We ensure that all financial and legal aspects of the contract, including intellectual property arrangements, are fully compliant with your institution’s policies and guidelines. In doing so, we aim to ensure that the interests of all parties involved are respected.
Networks
Those who want to valorise scientific research usually don’t do this by themselves. Collaboration and a good network are essential. Want to structure or expand your existing network? Your own network is often a good starting point. We will gladly complement it with our broad IXA network in the public and private sector. Our Business and Impact Developers can help you find partners with the right expertise, skills and facilities. In our brochures you can read more about what is involved in different forms of public-private partnerships. But also about objectives of a collaboration, publication options, intellectual property rights (IP) or anti-shelving provisions. See our handy checklist and flow chart for ‘collaborating with software developers’.
