Find funding

There comes a time when you need funding to start, or further develop, your research project, or idea. IXA offers researchers from all disciplines – from engineering, mathematics and life sciences to arts, humanities and social sciences – a roadmap to a variety of European and national grants and funding opportunities aimed at boosting research valorisation and impact.

Applying for Research grants

If you want to apply for a research grant, such as the Horizon Europe program and national calls from NWOSIA, and RVO it is helpful to know that each university has a dedicated grant support team. They provide tailored support with research grant applications for both individual and consortium applications. The level of support varies per university, but in general includes:

  • providing feedback on proposals and rebuttals,
  • training and mock interviews to prepare you for your interview
  • advice on consortium formation, post-evaluation analysis.

Help with 'impact paragraphs'

Many grant providers require paragraphs on Social Impact and Knowledge Utilisation. Our grant advisors can assist you in writing these paragraphs, working closely with IXA’s business and impact developers. In the impact paragraphs you describe, among other things, how your research results can benefit society. But also, how your research can benefit companies or public organisations (such as museums, charities, governments), and how you would like to collaborate with them by transferring knowledge. Your colleagues at IXA are happy to be of help

Valorisation and impact funding from your university

Your home institution has several funds open to Amsterdam researchers from all fields of research. IXA manages these funds. Even at an early stage you can receive financial support, for example for carrying out feasibility studies, to conceptualize and validate, for starting a knowledge-driven company or start-up, or for collaborations with companies or non-profit organisations.
