Demonstrator Lab, the academic incubator facility in Amsterdam, celebrated its participants’ achievements in the vibrant atmosphere of the Summer Pitch Event. Out of 40 pre-finalists, three projects prevailed as winners: DOEdeal!, Capsule Photonics and HANGA Studios. The victors were awarded €1000 each to aid with the further development of their projects.

This year’s event included a special twist: a rapid-fire alumni spotlight. During this, previous winners could give a 1-slide, 1-minute pitch to see what they’ve been up to since they last participated in the event. The audience were also given the chance to cast their votes, and Ramsey Togni from PULSE was crowned winner of the Audience Award and received “Eternal Glory” and €1000!

About the winners 

DOEdeal! – DOEdeal! is an app intended to aid families in spending more quality time together. The app includes a list of curated activities, deals about logistics, and a family planner to make the process of strengthening relationships within families much more streamlined.

Capsule Photonics – Capsule Photonics is currently developing a small, pill-sized camera that can create microscopy-like images to detect esophageal cancer early, by highlighting cancer biomarkers using advanced imaging techniques.

HANGA Studios – HANGA Studios is committed to aid the process towards a sustainable fashion industry, by creating a circular economy of repurposing textile waste into durable and customisable clothing hangers with tailored designs to fit everyone’s situation.
