Four Amsterdam researchers selected to join the Faculty of Impact program

In the latest round of the Faculty of Impact, focused on security and energy transition, four researchers from Amsterdam have been selected for the intensive two-year program. They will have the opportunity to transform their scientific research into scalable or commercial startups with societal impact. These researchers will receive guidance on entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and investment, while remaining connected to their universities.

The selected Amsterdam-based researchers are:

  • Dr. A.J. Affandi (Amsterdam UMC): Developing a smarter nanobody vaccine for cancer therapy.
  • R.L. Berdaguer (University of Amsterdam): Focusing on microbes for sustainable agriculture.
  • Dr. F. Buß (University of Amsterdam): Working on BOR-LYTE, sustainable battery electrolytes.
  • F.R. van Eeden (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam): Developing ‘The Happy Bar,’ a functional food product to improve mood and behavior through the gut-brain axis.
