Summer opportunity: NWO launches three new awards for impact, open science and team science
To highlight exceptional initiatives and achievements by researchers, NWO honors inspiring researchers with an award. Through awards for a healthy research culture, for societal impact, and for collaboration, NWO demonstrates its commitment to Dutch research and connects scientists with one another and with society by shining a spotlight on their achievements.
Awards for good practices in science
- NWO presents the Arete Award for a Healthy Research Culture to initiatives or individuals who contribute to or serve as an example of a healthy research culture.
- The Agora Award for Collaboration is given to initiatives that have implemented collaboration in a surprising, innovative, and distinctive way and have thereby achieved demonstrable results.
- With the Atlas Award for Societal Impact, NWO aims to highlight initiatives that have made an exceptional or remarkable contribution through research, knowledge utilization, and/or science communication.
The awards draw attention to innovative practices in science and encourage their broader application. In this way, NWO strengthens its mission and also raises awareness of important developments within the scientific community. Researchers, research teams and support staff should be nominated before 10 September 2026. A sum of €50,000 is available for each award.
