New VU start-up MIND: How do people perform under pressure?
How can we better understand stress to improve health, well-being, and performance? The new VU Dream Team MIND addresses this question whilst working with a proven technology for measuring physiological signals. The start-up will be looking into new application opportunities together with partners like Defense.
Within MIND, students have the opportunity to work with proven research technology from VU-AMS and explore new applications. VU-AMS is a research platform used to measure physiological signals that provide insight into stress, recovery, and emotional processes. This technology is now being used worldwide in hundreds of scientific studies and continues to grow as an entrepreneurial innovation at the VU.
With MIND, students will therefore operate at the intersection of science, technology, and societal impact, gaining experience with issues that are relevant to health, performance, and resilience. With partnerships with academic researchers and Defense, f.i. VU Centre for Defence and Resilient Society (CDWS) and MINDBase Amsterdam, innovative knowledge will find its way to societal partners. For the students is a great way to gain practical experience and connect research insights to societal challenges.
